So I got the opportunity to visit the Houston Aquarium during 'Shark Week'. I have actually never been to an aquarium before so I was super excited. It was a great learning opportunity to see the different types of fish. I actually saw a blue catfish that was massive:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh39_tJnJcbpSTdgOBmvkz0zGOXEmW0-iC8eEepE8wd65yoqA7l4QqPJvd-y5ekwamzet1_OqB_gdvHHzKNYLD84MfL6JDE7ZxOZ7r1yuBUKjj9kck_htMgbPks493W7TOZqrEVIxZM26I/s1600/IMAG0567.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh39_tJnJcbpSTdgOBmvkz0zGOXEmW0-iC8eEepE8wd65yoqA7l4QqPJvd-y5ekwamzet1_OqB_gdvHHzKNYLD84MfL6JDE7ZxOZ7r1yuBUKjj9kck_htMgbPks493W7TOZqrEVIxZM26I/s320/IMAG0567.jpg" /></a></div> <i>Here fishy fishy...</i>
There was this massive eel that at first I thought was just a log in the tank until it started to move. Each type of fish was grouped within its family/species. I got the opportunity to touch a stingray and I was freaking out the entire time. There was one there that was splashing all of the participants around the pool.

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to visit the Texas based brewery that is right here in Houston. St. Arnold's was started 19 years ago and has recently flourished to a craft beer delight for those who lose IPA's and home brewing. The tour guide was the owner and founder himself of the St. Arnold's which was a awesome delight.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6pjhea-Xm51QJi3e2gy9OmLcDPm1L8XX2KnTObz8xS8z0Pa4r0JgKN46KeNslNjsYlpxXG06t0DXCif-UgwXJNBGGZOCZyLLYHLWODMeEQ9dgofrAkJdhgxkMrMfjEwUOq4KPCIsKS10/s1600/IMAG0546.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6pjhea-Xm51QJi3e2gy9OmLcDPm1L8XX2KnTObz8xS8z0Pa4r0JgKN46KeNslNjsYlpxXG06t0DXCif-UgwXJNBGGZOCZyLLYHLWODMeEQ9dgofrAkJdhgxkMrMfjEwUOq4KPCIsKS10/s320/IMAG0546.jpg" /></a></div>
To here from the founder himself how St. Arnold's came about was amazing. We toured on Saturday so it was available to walk the entire area and see the big barrels. The tour guide explained the process and whats the difference between the beers out there in the market. I also learned that the brewery is named after a saint and not just a made up one. St. Arnold is not well known but he did spread the word to drink beer instead of water, I believe this is because you we less likely to die from dysentery.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijkisoYa4F-LIglOZeEyBrVKNrcbayHkb2JvzcT8a2b3O1DdPcaka4-v8eokBT_gm6ENm4XksaZO8ngicnAl2ocVle2-7p7zrW9y4yLDzVtBFt-g-XbSJT0KyL-48nfR-5NebgN_9Xd9I/s1600/IMAG0535.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijkisoYa4F-LIglOZeEyBrVKNrcbayHkb2JvzcT8a2b3O1DdPcaka4-v8eokBT_gm6ENm4XksaZO8ngicnAl2ocVle2-7p7zrW9y4yLDzVtBFt-g-XbSJT0KyL-48nfR-5NebgN_9Xd9I/s320/IMAG0535.jpg" /></a></div>
For eight dollars you got four tokens and a souvenir glass to try some of the different beers the brewery has to offer. I tried Santo and Weed Whacker; Santo is a dark beer that had a very smooth taste to it, not bitter after bite. Weed Whacker however was not my cup of tea, Lawn Mower is the light version of Weed Whacker. My friend got the Oktoberfest beer which has hints of cinnamon and apple I believe in it. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend everyone to visit.

I have taken a mini class with Kim of Exquisite Coaching and learned what was my best angle to not look like a 12 year old (hint hint..that's why I try to stay towards the center and have full on frontal photos). I say this to state that late last year and before my bout of influenza I participated in a tv commercial on a whim. I did it more so to say that I had done something and check it off my list. I also learned through my pageant career that I am not the focus of the commercial and merely a seller of a product. Below is a photo and video from the same shoot, you be the judge.

Here is another promo I did last year for Miss Florida USA sponsorship package. I really had to mentally prepare for the fact that this was not about me and more so about the product. So all in all I think this post was more about remember that everything is not about you.

More importantly they must know where they stand on certain issues. Now we all know that everyone does not agree on every issue and that is what makes America great. If everyone was the same it would be boring. So whether you are a liberal, conservative, or honestly don't care. As a pageant contestant you must be ready to answer the hard hitting questions.
I myself am a political junkie and I proudly say so. I like to know what is going on in Washington so that unlike those who only get there information from television or family. I can put together my own opinion on the subject and be comfortable about it. I believe everyone should come to their own opinion and not let others decide for you. I was lucky and my parents never talked about their political affiliations while I was growing up and we do vary on what we believe. Had they chosen for me when I was younger my views would be different.
Every pageant girls and those alike should remember this scene right here.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.thepageantplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/2395_f7de.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="295" width="350" src="http://www.thepageantplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/2395_f7de.jpg" /></a></div>
Many were upset about what she said. But I believe the biggest problem isn't that its more about how she said it. Yes she spoke her mind, but she went on the offend some of the members of the panel with her harsh criticisms. Unfortunately being a pageant queens comes with the responsibility as to know when you can and cannot speak your mind. One must always remember not everyone will agree but as long as you do your best to not offend anyone you should be able to pass the interview section with flying colors.
One of my favorite pageant contestants and excellent interviewer Miss Arkansas 2011 Elise Neal
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/2011+Miss+America+Pageant+A9KZHB5oLICl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="450" width="350" src="http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/2011+Miss+America+Pageant+A9KZHB5oLICl.jpg" /></a></div>
Elise was given a very controversial question during Miss America that year and handled it like a pro. The audience feel in love with her even if they did not agree with her stance on the issue. Between Elise and Carrie you can see the monumental difference in how each contestant answered her question. If you are a USA system contestant I believe you can learn a lot from the America system in terms of interview and on stage question. These girls go through a 10 minutes interview with the judges instead of a 2-4 minute interview in USA. This means that the contestant has to know what she is talking about and be committed to her stance on issues. So if your looking to compete in any system, the moral of this is to know thy issue and know it well. You never know what kind of question you will get.

So this past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Washington DC for the inauguration of President Barack Obama. It was a great honor to be in the presence of so many people who wanted the president to fight for change. My mother and I were lucky enough (or should I say she was lucky enough) to get tickets to be closer. We did go the last time and got tickets but this time we we in front of the pool instead of behind it.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The crowd around us was very friendly. DC had this very welcoming vibe that weekend. We took the metro a couple of times and if someone left anything on the subway people would help out. One event that if you were in the green section would remember was the lone protestor in our section. He decided to climb a tree and protest abortion and Planned Parenthood. It was kinda pathetic, he was only in a crowd of people who probably had already made up their mind on the issue and tickets come in two so it seems no one would come with him.
In terms of pro-choice and pro-life (a whole different conversation); just because someone is labeled a liberal, that doesn't mean they are automatically pro-choice. He stayed in the tree until after the ceremony. The police hooked a ladder to the tree to help him, which only caused him to climb higher. According to reports, SWAT removed him after the event (no witnesses lol). Also there should be a video of him somewhere on YouTube, everyone had there camera out filming, I did give a play by play to someone standing around out thanks to my binoculars.

After that getting around was crazy, so many people moving at the same time. There was a massive traffic jam with so many people getting on the metro. Reports say there were close to one million visitors in the capital. Last time there was almost two million but all that says it that people believe and want to witness history.

I had a lot of fun and was able to see the president with the help of binoculars. Was the trip worth it? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Depends on the candidate and the weather.

So in August I made one of the biggest decisions of my life so far and that was to move. Where did I move exactly...Texas..Now I know what some of you are thinking, "um this is a red state why would you go there?" Well for me it was simply leaving the state for a little bit. When someone starts to feel complacent there is only so much more that they can take. I told my parents, set a date (setting a date makes it real), and started the monumental process of getting my stuff together. Fast forwarded to the trip. It took two days total to drive and luckily I was not by myself; one of my good friends made the trip with me to A) keep me company and B) she had never been to Texas and wanted to come. It for sure brought us closer together and yet you could see our personalities clash as well. We made our pit stop in Gulf Port, MS and had dinner at a place called Salute. Funny part was Mississippi is know for seafood and yet both of us had chicken. Day two was finishing the drive from Mississippi to Texas which took us through one of the bigger cities in Louisiana. I definitively got to see more of the country on my two day trip than I did driving to North Carolina. Over the course of two days we went into a tunnel in Alabama and over massive bridges in Louisiana. When we finally got to Texas, they had in my friends opinion the best welcome center of them all. But to be far we got to Alabama's after they closed as well as Mississippi. We did make a point to stop at all of the welcome centers for they always have the best bathrooms, Louisiana had free coffee as well. Here are some photos from the drive. Enjoy

<br /></div>
To those who are not invested into pageantry or no the workings behind the scene the fitness aspect of pageants can usually be the most daunting. Depending on the current fitness level of the prospective contestant, getting into pageant shape can be a mountain or a molehill.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxz9BI6EdIXpx3VfmvmQhJKWUn3DZ-QOGdT1k17gs2rkWRG0uYSxjsAZ69qCzxcTS3Qkvwapt19sXz4FJlPLBAAF_fhYmmrZQMYOtGj_QCkDS7qI11LLhCXFiPj0oKaAvkVfZc1EG25J8/s640/image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="500" width="635" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxz9BI6EdIXpx3VfmvmQhJKWUn3DZ-QOGdT1k17gs2rkWRG0uYSxjsAZ69qCzxcTS3Qkvwapt19sXz4FJlPLBAAF_fhYmmrZQMYOtGj_QCkDS7qI11LLhCXFiPj0oKaAvkVfZc1EG25J8/s640/image.jpg" /></a></div>
What does it involve? Sacrifice and lots of it; many contestant will give up certain foods depending on how much time they have. The gym or fitness trainer will become the new best friend of the contestant seeing how most of their time is spent there sweating it out. What enters the body is more important than every before. Figuring out exactly what needs to change on the body to have a more symmetrical look is crucial to have a pleasing look to the judges. But more important the contestant and anyone really needs to know that the competition is won from the neck up. You body is a complement but in the case of not getting to where you would like to be there are some cheat tips that many pageant contestants use.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/miss-america-swimsuit-preliminaries.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="325" width="510" src="http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/miss-america-swimsuit-preliminaries.jpg" /></a></div>
Nutrition: Depending on the girl, they might have to increase or decrease their daily caloric intake. There should be an increase in protein that is part of each meal and even though they eat a lot or seemingly eat a lot sometimes they are still hungry. Brownies, pizza, soda have become a thing of the past or only enjoys on the one cheat meal of the week. So how do you deal with a pageant girl if she is mode to get into shape. First know that they are not upset with you, but more so with their current situation. They would love to eat that piece of cake with you at dinner or have that second glass of wine but they really don't want to spend anymore time in the gym than they have to.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.tiza.com/Fakih%20chows%20down%20at%20Pazza%20Notte.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="375" width="560" src="http://www.tiza.com/Fakih%20chows%20down%20at%20Pazza%20Notte.jpeg" /></a></div>
Now I believe the biggest problem in pageants and dieting in general is that it is used as something for a quick fix. Your diet should be an everyday thing not a four months before the pageant fix. These girls get into the best shape of their life and many a week after the pageant put much of the weight back on when they change back to how they were eating before. So whats a girl to-do? Yo-yo dieting is not the answer. If you love the body you have during competition then work to keep it or something relatively close to it afterwards. If there needs to be some type of motivation of some sorts than try out for figure competitions. They are bikini contests with the same hair and make-up, many of these women only put on five pounds during the off season, they know its a lifestyle choice.

Where have I been....sorry for the delay I need to update a bunch so this might be one massive post or I'll get lazy and one short one with a bunch on photos. First off, back from Florida USA I really had a great time this and loved just being myself even if it may be a tad bit snarky and sarcastic but I love it. I will say I did try to take more photos so then last year and that was a success I carried my phone with me everywhere. I was attached at the hip with Miss South Florida USA and Miss St. Pete it was fun they are awesome girls. I also got to know Miss Tampa and Miss Pensacola a lot better. If you are wondering who they are please check out the Miss Florida website and click Miss Contestants to see all of the girls. I very much excited for the time to come but I don't want to relay too much without knowing enough. Enough about me here are some photos.

<br /></div>
This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel down to Hollywood, FL for the Miss Florida USA official pre-taping and seminar weekend. 80 of the 82 contestants were there and we all received our lovely opening number by <a href="https://www.elan-usa.com/">Elan International</a> and filmed promo spots for the sponsors over the course of the weekend. I taped on Friday which was for the swimsuit sponsor <a href="http://www.desireenercessian.com/home.htm">Desiree Nercessian</a> and for the Roberto Cavalli sunglasses sponsorship. It was a lot of fun and I got to meet a decent size portion on the girls competing. For lunch we got to go to Pollo Tropical and have a very nutritious and filling lunch. They sponsor the meals while we are at Bailey Concert Hall during the competition. After that we were free for the day in which I passed out from utter exhaustion and later that evening I got ready for the delegate dinner at <a href="http://www.miagrill.com/">Mama Mia’s Ristorante</a> which I had never had the chance to attend. The food was amazing and I ate pasta for the last time until after the competition.
Seminar Day on Saturday we had a wonderful workshop with Robin Fleming of <a href="http://www.lacasahermosa.com/">La Casa Hermosa</a> who talked to us about what we plan to wear for competition and what would look best for our body. Attached is some photos from that weekend and the contestant introductions for 80 of the girls.
Enjoy

So I traveled to Vegas for the Miss USA pageant that showed live June 3rd. It was an awesome experience. This was my second time going the first was when Megan Clementi was competing for the title of Miss USA 2010 that year Rima Fakih was crowned instead. Being at the live show is an amazing experience, you get to see all the behind the scenes action; from the makeup artists touching up the contestants to a gentleman who was almost like the promoter during the show keeping everyone excited even after the girl they may have been cheering for has been eliminated. We were sitting pretty far back and they don't allow cameras in the auditorium so the photos I do have were taken before they told me I couldn't take any. Miss Florida USA Karina Brez looked amazing on stage and I loved the dress she had on. Since I watched prelims I had a list and I'm proud to state that I got nine of the top sixteen right and two of the top five correct I had Ohio as my winner and Rhode Island as fourth runner up to Virginia. We didn't just go to Vegas for the show but also to explore the city I have a couple photos but both me and Nicole are horrible at taking photos. We took a red eye back and it was filled to the brim with people. I loved visiting Vegas but it is not for everyone. I don't know how one can live in 108 degree weather, it was blazing everyday. Here are some photos from the trip enjoy!

So I haven't been keeping up with my blog which equals epic fail. My birthday is coming up shortly and I need to document as much as possible. So what has been happening as of late. I've competed in both Miss Daytona USA and Miss Orlando USA, I did not win either title so I've decided to go at large this year. It is my last year competing even with another year of eligibility per se. I'm graduating this year and want to focus on getting situated in a new state (hint hint) and my career. I'm getting ready for Vegas or more so I'm starting to pack..something that I'm not crazy good at. I'll make a list and post it in all its crazy weird code name glory. I've made a schedule for the next month of everything I need to get done and when. I'm going to finish another post about pageant girls and I'm even tempted to do a fun make-up tutorial..maybe a Vegas inspired one for the pageant. We will see what way these next couple of weeks go. I'm not going to promise but I will do my best to post more frequently. Here are some photos from the two competitions I did courtesy of Telair. Enjoy xoxo Amina<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This past February I competed in the Miss Jacksonville USA pageant. It was my first competition this season and I was rusty. The directors were awesome and I had a wonderful time. The format they use is a 4 minute interview the day before and swimsuit and evening gown the next day. I had a great interview and had tons of fun on stage the next day. Unfortunately the stars were not aligned in my favor that night and Ashley Conley was crowned the new Miss Jacksonville USA. I know she will do great at Miss Florida this upcoming July. Here are some pictures from that weekend.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This past February I was asked to be apart of a speaker series for a group of young women in my community. I titled my part <b>Wearing the Crown</b> in which I went over what it takes to become one's ideal woman. We discussed speaking in public, first appearance dos and don'ts. And mostly importantly staying involved in your community, giving back is always a great feeling. Afterwards the girls were able to ask me any questions they had and I've been asked to come back and speak again (Yay!!). Below are some photos from the event enjoy!<br />

<br />
A couple of weeks ago myself and Nicole Kelley Miss Earth Untied States attended the Miss St. Petersburg pageant across the state to cheer on our friend Collins Medlin who was competing. It was an excellent pageant and I'm happy to say that Collins won! Collins will go on to compete at the Miss Florida USA pageant this July in Hollywood, Florida. Congrats Collins and here are some photos from the pageant. <br />
<br />
Enjoy! <br />

<br />
This blog is prompted by recent experiences but hopefully it rings true with my fellow queens and contestants out there. There needs to be a how-to guide for men as to what to expect at the beginning when you first meet to crowning and everything in between.<br />
<br />
1: First time meeting- whether it’s out with friends or a blind date. There are things you should expect to see/signs one should notice about the girl at hand. And that’s depending on whether or not you have been told she does pageants. First and foremost, she is going to look very well put together. Image is EVERYTHING in the pageant world, from perfect hair and make-up to tailored clothing. This woman has spent a lot of time and effort (not forgetting money) making sure she steals the spotlight in some way or how good and/or bad. Her goal is unknown but what usual happens is she makes men stare and women become jealous or lesbians. You might be blown off your feet the first time you meet her and can’t believe she is single (there are usually reasons for this, more on that later). <br />
<br />
Now, depending on the girl and how long she has been competing, you may not know right off the back since she has hopefully learned to tone it down (pageantry isn’t their whole life, only 2-6 months before competition). Warning signs consist of skipping the bread and pasta (if a competition is coming up), drinking tons of water and ordering fish and veggies. Now fish and veggies is a great meal, but we pageant girls can make that at home (why waste a free meal on bare bone basics?) Some girls are <i>very</i> forward with what they do and some are more evasive. Being a reclusive girl myself, I’ve made it a point to not even bring up the fact I may or may not have competed and are still competing at the moment, at least not on the first date. There are men out there who may see these women as trophies to showcase to their friends and not potential significant others.<br />
<br />
Conversations at dinner may be a clue if she doesn’t tell you. What is her knowledge on politics? What’s going on around the world and especially within her city or state? Is she environmentally friendly? Does she seem to know more than the average person about the different ways to recycle? Does she have an expansive vocabulary; words not normally used in day to day conversations? Most girls if they consider themselves interview queens are very up to date with what’s going on. We scour the news websites getting different views on the situations currently going on at hand. (I personally love the read the viewer comments, those are sometimes the best.) We also try to keep our vocabulary fresh so that we do not repeat or use colloquial words often.<br />
<br />
If any of these send flags up in your head, well congratulations you are in my opinion starting to date (hopefully :)) a well-rounded and personally awesome pageant queen.<br />

So this year I went over to Orlando to do something fun. My friend Nicole tagged along and we met up with a friend of mines to spend the weekend with. Friday night we stayed up and watched movies and Saturday was spent wondering the Florida Mall to go to Sephora for make-up. Which reminds me if you are looking for truly great coverage go out and buy <a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml;jsessionid=UYN2D0MOAWOYSCV0KRTQX0Q?brandId=4028&categoryId=C108">Make-Up Forever HD foundation</a>. I love this foundation, your pictures will turn out amazing from such great coverage. Back to the events, so we ended up going to <a href="http://www.emberorlando.com/">Ember</a> which is a place I've gone a couple of times and I always have fun, I have yet to smell like smoke and the food is amazing there. I got the opportunity to meet former Magic player Gilbert Arenas, which is a funny story for those who were there. And two hilarious personal trainers from the area which I'm hoping they tag me soon in photos so that I can share. My night ended on a high and I'm doing my best to stick to my resolution even though I'm only one day down, only 365 day to go (It's a Leap Year this year). Here are some photos from last night enjoy.<br />

I went to visit a couple friends who are up north in school for nursing and medical. I was a lot of fun we went to a couple museums, which I'm obsessed with I could walk around them all day.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR2cYWK9Ia2DWC8vyqrlfTGXJAsQ4NZLC3tyN8utI0q_KxHCJrCZKQzJezHnz8Dd3HXggp0s3aGuDZKv3vH-O0BgNJAZBZE8BiNQcbk61wzYkDX2lTsDYlCTLoh3Lw_EABToNruSWPz8A/s1600/81.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR2cYWK9Ia2DWC8vyqrlfTGXJAsQ4NZLC3tyN8utI0q_KxHCJrCZKQzJezHnz8Dd3HXggp0s3aGuDZKv3vH-O0BgNJAZBZE8BiNQcbk61wzYkDX2lTsDYlCTLoh3Lw_EABToNruSWPz8A/s320/81.jpg" /></a></div><br />

We went to an 80's party which are the best types in my opinion. I was pretty much a disco ball but had a ton of fun. We also visited DC and the Whitehouse of course. We couldn't find an open Starbucks to save our lives and my friend hit on a cop how heard her, pretty funny. I loved the city and would not mind living there. Now If I could only finish grad school. Here are some more photos from my trip,<br />

<br />
It's taken awhile to write this post I meant to do so before my vacation but I figured now or never. I had such a wonderful time as Miss West Volusia, I did my part to get out there in my community and make my voice heard. Could I have done more, of course I could, you always can. But what I accomplished I was very proud of. On December fourth, my sister queen Emily and myself hosted our pageant in Ormond Beach. It was a tough competition and 3 girls now have the chance to compete for the title of Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA this upcoming July and October in Hollywood, FL. Here are some photos from the event including my very determined face to place the crowns correctly on Lauren and Marissa's head.<br />

I'm proud to say I beat my time last year 34:31 to 33:08 and I could not be prouder of myself. <br />
I feel this is a great way to end the year as Miss West Volusia USA and I cannot wait to see what is in store for me later on. Waiting to get more photos, I do plan on putting together a list of some of my memorable moments as Miss West Volusia USA 2012.Aminahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00848046316210103843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841332933225856727.post-5865604070388475722011-11-20T13:04:00.000-08:002011-11-20T13:04:05.453-08:00It's Coming<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://missfloridausa.com/E-Zine/Images/IMG_0727.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="391" src="http://missfloridausa.com/E-Zine/Images/IMG_0727.JPG" /></a></div><br />

I went across system lines and worked with some amazing girls from the Earth System. They were all amazing and sweet and I love that we get along. I look forward to working with them again in the future. I'm proud to say we raised over $1500 dollars for the cause!!<br />

Well, it's that season again, the road to Miss Florida USA 2013 starts today with the crowning of the new Miss Capital City USA up in Tallahassee. One of my good pageant friends and dance partner, Kristen Ledlow will be passing on her title to a young woman today who will vie for the title next July.Aminahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00848046316210103843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841332933225856727.post-63049445409623219482011-10-09T10:47:00.000-07:002011-10-09T10:47:59.897-07:00My Favorite Pageant GownsFor every pageant girl, picking her gown is the best part of the pageant experience. This is where she lets the judges in on her type of style and in my opinion what type of title holder she is trying to be. Here are some of my favorite gowns and what I believe they say to the judges.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://carrazgowns.com/homepage_images/hpimg659_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="300" width="300" src="http://carrazgowns.com/homepage_images/hpimg659_1.jpg" /></a></div><br />
1)<b>Greek Goddess</b><br />
This look screams care free and fun. As a title holder I will be a dream and love every aspect of the year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_full_width_scaled/hash/0b/6d/arizona_15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="266" src="http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_full_width_scaled/hash/0b/6d/arizona_15.jpg" /></a></div><br />
2)<b>DIVA</b><br />
For me this says I'm a little high maintenance but I also know when to be humble. I plan to push my year in terms of what I can accomplish and at the end I want everyone to remember me.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_full_width/hash/64/8a/minnesota_11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="266" src="http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_full_width/hash/64/8a/minnesota_11.jpg" /></a></div><br />
3)<b>Classic Queen</b><br />
As your next titleholder I plan to smile harder and longer than any other person here. I genuinely love everyone and want world piece. I am a retro beauty through and through.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9qQdSuKRxQrIy5gs94BaadZwQ1lKQdPJAmXy8gqgiwVL5qpPo4z57cI72YdzYuRziZZUGnCUZRnweLrHr-46uou77bFc2AU0VfUuA-3w1J019sDuT9yDccZPZSMkfvgM1RHT8HPpWtd4/s400/Indiana.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="400" width="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9qQdSuKRxQrIy5gs94BaadZwQ1lKQdPJAmXy8gqgiwVL5qpPo4z57cI72YdzYuRziZZUGnCUZRnweLrHr-46uou77bFc2AU0VfUuA-3w1J019sDuT9yDccZPZSMkfvgM1RHT8HPpWtd4/s400/Indiana.jpg" /></a></div><br />
4)<b>Sex Sells</b><br />
These types of gowns are not my personal favorite, they are a little to revealing and even though the girl is fully "covered" there is little left to the imagination. To me this type of tittle holder is a little scary but once again it is my opinion.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.serendipityprom.com/prodimages/alyssasmall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="300" width="186" src="http://www.serendipityprom.com/prodimages/alyssasmall.jpg" /></a></div><br />
5)<b>Overall Awesome</b><br />
There is something about this gown that I love and I've realized that every other girl has as well. It's sleek and sexy and the same time. Nothing about it screams tramp yet you want to know more about the girl. This girl has succeeded in terms conveying that she is a chameleon in terms of her appearance and attitude towards the crown. She wants to be the best and will work hard for it.Aminahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00848046316210103843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8841332933225856727.post-34768187850879267212011-10-08T07:49:00.000-07:002011-10-08T07:50:14.453-07:00Florida Teen USA 2012Last weekend I drove down to Hollywood, FL for the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant to support my little's: Rachel and Emily.
