Relay for Life

Saturday I stopped by the Daytona Beach Relay for Life on Manatee Island. I went to visit my friend who was a honorary guard for the opening lap of the event. It was a lot of fun but boy was it hot. Next relay I'll be better prepared.

Miss Daytona Beach May 1, 2011

Today I was asked to be the host of the Miss Daytona Beach USA pageant. It was an amazing experience and a great practice for the state competition. When we asked all of the traveling titleholders to come on stage I put my extemporaneous speaking skills to work and started asking the hard hitting questions, or more just name and title with a little padding here or there. Three girls were crowned tonight but all of them did such an amazing job. I can't wait to attend my next pageant in the future, having been on both sides of the spectrum it is truly a job to be an amazing titleholder!

Miss Orlando April 30, 2011

Yesterday I traveled to Orlando Florida to watch the Miss Orlando and Miss Orlando teen USA pageant. I was a great time and a wonderful experience. My predecessor Jisel Parra was competing and was awarded the title of Miss Orange County USA. She is such an amazing girl and I happy for her! Here are some photos from the event. I was excited to see my sister queen Emily as she was hosting the event with Miss Space Coast 2012 Sydney Mcbride. More photos to come when I get them!

Turtle Day April 30, 2011

Today I volunteered at the 9th Annual Turtle Day program in Ponce Inlet at the Marine Science Center. I was a greeter for the event which was free to the public. Today the center was letting two sea turtles back into the wild, one had been with them for over three years. The program had about 600 hundred people show up during the time I was there, I became very practiced at putting wristbands on visitors. When I took a break from greeting I walked around the center and spent time at the touch tank, they had sting rays in the tank that we could touch. I was able to touch a couple of them and they felt like silky leather it was rather strange. There was one sting ray that liked to splash water in the visitors face which was pretty funny. It was a great experience and I hope to help out next year at the 10th annual one.
